Personal Liberty & Responsibility

I stand for private institutions (churches, charitable organizations) providing assistance to individuals or families needing support. We must break the cycle of government-funded policies enslaving families from generation to generation. A government-regulated system does not help families break the welfare cycle but due to its very nature, promotes it.

 

I believe that liberty and freedom can only exist in a nation as long as it citizens take responsibility for their own actions. When an individual abdicates his responsibility to the state, it is illogical for that individual to expect freedom in return, for they are a slave to the government system.

 

If elected, I will attempt to co-author or sponsor legislation that increases the effectiveness and reach of private institutions such as churches or charitable organizations, to foster development of short-term assistance programs that offer training and a helping hand to those individuals in need with the ultimate goal of instilling a sense of pride and self worth. Allowing the down trodden to once again contribute to society and become financially independent and established. We have expended billions of our nation’s treasure endorsing and promoting a welfare state. It has inequitably failed. As such we must, as a society, recognize it is time to pursue a new direction; a direction that guarantees self worth and independence.
