Lower Taxes and Promote Economic Growth in Texas

I stand for lowering and eliminating burdensome taxes. By lowering taxes, individuals and corporate dollars are available to reinvest in business expansion, new technology and imperative research and development efforts. This limited tax philosophy creates new jobs and new companies and economic stability, thereby insuring and ultimately increasing revenues for the state.

I believe that individuals and business owners know best how to budget and spend their money better than any state or federal government bureaucrat.

If elected, I will fight the franchise tax – Texas’ first state income tax. Our state constitution is clear regarding any form of income tax. This franchise tax is unconstitutional regardless of how it is labeled. It is an obvious end run around the law and must be abolished before our state become too dependent on the illegal revenues collected. I will co-author and sponsor bills that protect business owners’ profits and balance sheets in order that they can maintain their business model and grow profitably. This will lead to increased job opportunities and development of the Texas economy.
